Q: When will Rec Room release on Nintendo Switch™?A: November 6th, 2024!Q: Will this be free to play?A: Yes! Rec Room is free to play on all platforms.Q: How can I get the free headphones item?A: Preregister by entering your email at the address in this link and get the item when we launch!Q: How long will preregistration be open after launch so I can get the item still?A: You’ll be able to preregister and get your headphones for a week after we launch on November 6th.Q: Will it require a Nintendo Switch Online™ membership?A: Nope, you’ll be able to play Rec Room without a membership!Q: Will it be cross-platform?A: Yes, although it’ll feel a little different than our current cross-platform experience.Q: What can you do in Rec Room on Nintendo Switch™?A: Play, socialize, and create with all your friends on all of the other platforms Rec Room is available on! There’s a few differences in the experience specific to Nintendo Switch™ that we’ll get to below, but the core experience of Rec Room is still the same.Q: What is different from the current experience?A: Not all content will be available in the Nintendo Switch™ version of Rec Room. We have a list of over 800 approved Rooms for you to play at launch, and we’ll continue to add more and more Rooms as time goes on! You can learn more about what content will be available and what is required for approval on this page about content criteria.Q: How do I get the room I created on the Nintendo Switch™?A: We will be reviewing and adding new content to Nintendo Switch™ weekly. At this time, we are not accepting requests to review specific content. Keep an eye out for updates! Rooms that are featured will be added to Nintendo Switch™ and you can apply for room featuring through our featured rooms program!Q: What is “content criteria” and what kinds of Rooms are available on Nintendo Switch™?A: UGC (Rooms, inventions, and custom avatar items) need to be manually approved before going live on Nintendo Switch™. Content that violates IP or trademarks or that don't meet the T for Teen or PEGI 12 guidelines will not pass manual approval.Q: Will I be able to create and publish rooms on Nintendo Switch™?A: You will be able to create rooms and invite your friends, but you will not be able to publish content you create on the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game. You also won’t be able to sell content you create on the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game.Q: Am I able to sign into my current Rec Room account on Nintendo Switch™?A: Yes! However, on Nintendo Switch™ you won't have access to the tokens you purchased or acquired from sales on other platforms. Those token types can't move on or off Nintendo Switch™.Q: Will I be able to use tokens that I earn on Nintendo Switch™?A: Tokens you earn from gameplay can be accessed on ALL platforms.Q: Will voice chat be available on Nintendo Switch™?A: Yes! Players above the age of 13 are able to use voice chat if they have a headset with a microphone.Q: Will Rec Room support the Nintendo Switch™ Joy-Con motion sensor remotes?A: We have no plans to support motion tracking on the Nintendo Switch™ at the moment, but that’d be awesome!Q: Any other differences?A: The Portfolio page, the Clothing Customizer (used for custom shirts), clubs, and events (excluding Rec Room events like RecCon) won’t be accessible in the Nintendo Switch™ version of Rec Room for now.
