How do I record?Editing and post-production are allowed, but the majority of the content should be filmed in Rec Room itself!
Unfortunately for now, the streamer cam only works on PC due to Sony and Oculus Quest restrictions. We will continue looking into ways we may be able to bring more views to those platforms in the future! For now, below are some tutorials to help guide recording across our other platforms.
What can I use for recording or editing? Here are some handy links for some free editing and recording software, if needed!

The audio/music I want to use is copyrighted, and Youtube won't let me upload it!It is important for everyone to be aware that YouTube has a copyright system. Some songs will not be allowed to be uploaded or used for this reason. There is a way for you to be able to check if you can use the song you want before you start your project! Simply upload an unlisted video to a channel, and check to see if it will let you use it publicly. Here’s instructions on how to check!
  1. Open up your editing program, and put the song into it. No visuals are necessary.
  2. Render the video in full.
  3. Go to your YouTube channel, and click the little camera with the + inside of it in the top right corner, then click “Upload video”.
  4. Under “Select Files to upload”, click the “Public” box, and select “Unlisted”.
  5. Either drag and drop the rendered video into it, or click the image above “Select files to upload” to navigate and select the video.
  6. Wait for the video to upload and process. Once it’s complete, press “Done” in the top right corner.
  7. Click the title or the picture to go to the video.
  8. Click “Edit Video” under the Share and Save buttons.
  9. On the right side of the screen, in the “Visibility” box, it may just say “Unlisted”. If there’s nothing else in that box, you’re good to go!
  10. If not, and it says “Unlisted, copyright claim”. Click on that box, and click “View copyright claim details”.
  11. Under “Channel impact”, if it says “Not affected”, you’re good to go! You can use that song without the video being denied or it affecting your channel.
