Roomie Update
We’ve got an important update to share about Roomie.
Roomie Update - Rec Room Plus Limits & New Plans Starting TodayHey everyone! We’ve got an important update to share about Roomie. Since RR+ subscribers got early access on Monday, you’ve already racked up over 40,000 hours of interaction. Go Roomie! As usage explodes, so do the demands on the internal systems that keep Roomie running. Some of you have hit usage limits and we want to fix that. So starting today, we’re introducing Roomie Energy,  a new way to manage Roomie usage, along with two new options for getting more Energy if you need it.  What’s changing:
  • Rec Room Plus members now receive 8,000 Roomie Energy per month.
  • To go beyond that, you can choose from two new options:
    • Roomie Energy Pack: a $5 one-time purchase for 5,000 Roomie Energy. You must be an RR+ or Roomie Max subscriber to purchase the Roomie Energy Pack.
    • Roomie Max: a $20 subscription for 20,000 Roomie Energy delivered monthly, and access to Roomie even if you aren’t a Rec Room Plus member!
What is Roomie Energy?Roomie Energy works like mobile data: small interactions use a little, big ones use more. The more you chat with Roomie, the more energy you’ll use. Right now, you can’t yet see your remaining Energy in-app, but we’re working on adding a visible Energy meter soon. We know that’s a bit frustrating, especially if you’re deciding whether to buy more Energy or not - but we wanted to at least make that option available to players that want to interact more with Roomie.  What’s Next for RoomieOur goal is to make Roomie fun and sustainable. We're getting a great signal that Roomie is fun. Roomie also has a cost to run. So making Roomie sustainable means we need to be able to cover the real costs of running it, especially as usage grows fast. We’ve loved seeing all the hype around Roomie - and we have a lot more we’re excited to include in future updates. More customization, text chat support, and new tweaks to animations and movement are all coming very soon. Keep sharing your feedback, ideas, and Roomie photos & videos in the #roomie channel - the team loves to see it!
